David Kaplan: Yeah
Line of Events
The mismatched cousins reunite for a trip across Poland to honor their beloved grandmother, but their old tensions resurface against the backdrop of 39 years of their family history. Benji Kaplan: We stay moving, we stay. light, we stay nimble. Benji Kaplan: The conductor will come through, taking our tickets, we tell him we’re going to the bathroom. David Kaplan: Bathroom ahead, looking for stragglers. David Kaplan: Sorry, are we stragglers? Benji Kaplan: Yeah.
This is our country
By the time he gets to the front, the train will be in the station, and we’re free to go home. David Kaplan: That’s so fucking stupid. The tickets are probably like twelve dollars. Benji Kaplan: That’s the principle of the matter. We shouldn’t have to pay for train tickets in Poland. David Kaplan: No, it’s not, it was our country. They kicked us out because they thought we were cheap.

It’s about two cousins, played by Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin, who go to Poland and go on a trip that includes a visit to an old concentration camp. So the movie obviously gets dark, but it’s also funny and heartwarming.
I found the movie to be realistic
The cousins hang out and smoke weed together. Eisenberg also wrote and directed the movie, and he did an amazing job, but I can tell they love each other. The story, the acting, the cinematography, the editing, and so on are all great. There are a lot of gorgeous shots. The concentration camp scene is poignant and respectful. I felt sad at times during the film. I guess I cared a lot about my cousins.
I just love this film
There’s not a single scene that drags on too long. "True Pain" is definitely one of my favorite films of the year. I highly recommend it, obviously. From Alien: Romulus to Road House, take a look back at some of our favorite posters of 2024.
