I can’t speak highly enough of Brady Corbett and his vision
The Brutalist: The Brutalist is a painting that comes to life on screen. It’s as if Vincent Van Gogh had created this absolute masterpiece of direction. From the subtle yet highly effective and powerful sound design and score. Not to mention the amazing cinematography, every shot comes to life before your eyes. This original script is a true testament to how the film industry should be run.
Such a deep and powerful story
Brutalist is a grounded story that takes you emotionally to places I wasn’t prepared to go. I’m glad this movie is 3 hours and 35 minutes long because it deserves the right to take its time to tell the story. And that’s 3 and a half hours of pure cinematic experience. I sat there in pure awe through every scene. That’s how a movie is made.
Let’s move on to the acting
Adrien Brody gives a masterclass in acting. It’s all there for you to witness, the tear-jerking scenes, the tender moments and gestures, the looks in his eyes. So much scope in one movie that I don’t think I’ve seen a performance on this level in a while. Guy Pearce is absolutely stunning, downright terrifying at times. Felicity Jones comes into the story later than I imagined, but she manages to hold her head up high, she’s a real beauty to behold.
In short, The Brutalist is a 3 and a half hour spectacle that
39;s earned its place in the world of cinema and then some. Brady Corbet is a visionary genius and I look forward to many more of his projects. The Brutalist = 9.8/10. From Alien: Romulus to Road House, take a look back at some of our favorite posters from 2024.
